Welcome to the website of Double Dragon Shotokon Karate. We are proud to be members of Shotokan Karate International Australia (SKIA) and are directly affiliated with the Shotokan Karate International Federation based in Tokyo (SKIF). SKIF is the world's largest Shotokan Karate organisation, with more than 3 million members in over 120 countries and the chief instructor is Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa, 10th Dan. We are also affiliated with the Australian Karate Federation and World Karate Federation.  

 

The Double Dragon Shotokan Karate clubs in Sydney are run by Sensei Leszek Smirski, 6th Dan, fully accredited instructor, with 35 years karate experience.  The clubs, in Kingsford and Hurstville, have a successful competition record on state, national and international levels.  Beginners and experienced students are all welcome to train in our friendly and supportive environment that brings out the best in each individual. Our sessions are suitable for men and women and children of all ages. We are dedicated to providing a friendly and safe environment that enables you to be the best karateka you can be.  

Shotokan Karate is a martial art form that is so much more than kicking and punching.  Beyond the obvious self-defence and physical skills, karate is about character development and learning successful life skills and values as a way of life.  We wish you a great journey in experiencing the beauty and passion behind Shotokan karate training.
